30 Day Blogging Challenge - Day 19 & Blog Update

Day 19: My Favourite Movie

- I love a lot of movies, and generally my favourite genre is comedy.

- I also love the Marvel superhero movies, especially Guardians Of The Galaxy, Deadpool and The Avengers (the combined movie, and the ones of the individual characters that make up the team.

- I do however have a favourite movie, which is Short Term 12.

The movie is set in a short term care house for kids who have mental illnesses.

It follows the life of one of the workers in the unit, and some of her patients.

I absolutely love it as it shows mental illness and how mental illness works and how it affects people. It shows what can trigger people and how hard life can be, even when stuff is going well.

Definitely watch it, however it has triggering themes (mental illness, self harm and suicide), so be careful when watching it.

At a foster-care facility for at-risk teenagers, Grace is a young counselor trying to do her best for kids who often have been pulled from the worst kinds of home situations. Now, things are coming to a head as Grace readies for marriage even as some her charges are coming to major turning points in their lives. To cope, Grace will have to make difficult perceptions and decisions that could put her career, and more importantly her charges, at dire risk.

From now on, I am going to try and do weekly diary updates. I need to write my feelings as each day goes by more so that I don't get as lost in my head. I figured what better way to show how messy depression, other mental illness and life in general are than by sharing some diary entries here. I will upload the blog post every Sunday or Monday depending on the time, but I will write each day and share my whole week in the same post. I don't know how well this will actually go, but I will try it out and see how I feel doing it. The first post will be next week.
